March 29th 2007

I have just read something that has totally made my day. Not even a whole load of assignments and hard FIS questions could make me weep. hehe......those close to me would know what I mean =) if not, go here.

So anyways, before I go further, I would just like to say:

HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY TO ALEX KUEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are now a quarter of a century old =) hehe.......

So, we had out FIS lecture today, and Mr Chan was talking about Internal Control Systems when the electricity went out. Its been happening quite a lot lately. Wonder what's going on with the wiring? Is it becuase of the elevators? No, I guess not. cos it's been broken for three months already.... -_-"

so then ron, sha and i took the opportunity to play a game...name the currencies of the world:
and i came up with Euro, Peso, Brunei Dollar, US dollar, Aus Dollar, Singapore Dollar.......

yeap, I dono any other curerencies besides the ones that have the word DOLLAR in it... *sigh*
that just shows how ignorant i am.....

But anyways, I just saw yesterday on Lilian's blog that I was featured in it...while I was sleeping!!!! O_o"

Aiyoyo....Lilian ar..so eng...but hehe, can't help not sleeping, cos Law was so BORING!!!!!
Yea, I admit I do look pretty fat here.....**sighs**

But, I have also done some editing of my own!!!!! But must wait a while cos I'm still putting some finishing touches.

FIS tute

Miss Wendy is not here for this week, so Mr Chan has replaced her for our tutes. I have to say, I was relieved, cos I know Mr Chan is a great teacher! =D

Since he didn't elaborate on which tute he'll be teaching, I found myself saying to Ron that I hope that he'll ba teaching our tute. And he came!! Even Clement started laughing at me. But I don't mind, cos I'm happy....

But after a while,, it can get a little boring lar......

-_-"

He taught us like we were kids, learning 1,2,3 litat...But in essence, what he taught is actually quite easy to absorb, because he uses alot of examples, and explanations so we can get the drift.

I thing in the whole swinburne, up til now, he still remains as one of my favourite teachers =)

BTW, he asked me and ron to help tutor Accounting for success!!!!

Those were the days...

Signs to show that you are an 80-sbaby:-->
we grew up watching Transformers, Thundercats, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks, Mickey Mouse, Jem, Mask, Ninja Turtles, Voltron, Baja Hitam,Ultraman n not forgettin POWER RANGERSn BUGS BUNNY!!!

--> had to brush our teeths during recessat primary school? had to hold plastic cups, line up with your classmates side by side and start brushing our teeth at some open area... or maybe near some drain??

-->do you still remember that we had 'dentist' rooms where we had to have our teeths checked?not to forget our 'program minum susu' (millk-drinking program) in primary school.. everybody was supposed to buy like cartons of milk that costed 30 cents.. and you would see everyone drinking it everyday...its d UHT milk...

--> the teachers who would want to punish us must use yellow rulers to hit us on our palms?? 1 metre length..

--> that a bowl of mihun soup or some soup only costed 50 cents at the school canteen...went to some sundry shop near the school or to the 'roti' man waiting outside our schools so that we can buy junk food like chickedees, mamee, ding dang with some toys in it, 'Ti Kam', ice-cream and we would play games like monopoly, uno,old maid, and all other card games like that...

--> another fun time would be during Pendidikan Jasmani. the boys would play football while the girls would play netball... and it would be like we were playing in the world cup...but of course. the best would be main guli, batu seremban, bottlecaps, ice-cream sticks, 'Pepsi Cola one-two-three', Cops and Robbers, main kejar-kejar duduk, getah... and for the not so active, those kind of 'book games' where we would use buku latihan to draw and ask our friends to play...

--> do you remember the ice-cream tubes which are actually ice and colouring that were sold for 10 to 20 cents.. the colourful ones.. where you usually bite off the top to glup it down.orange tastes best..

-->what about days when we felt like doing naughty things such as folding papers so small to make 'lastik' amd shoot each other... how about throwing chalks??

--> back then, micheal jackson was just turning white.. and still had albums coming out.. compared to CD's, we were listening to tapes that sold forRM9.90...

-->in computer class, we were still using black and white computer moniters..played 'Atari'... maybe SEGA or NINTENDO..well, are we all getting older or what?

1) if you understand what you have readand you are smiling...

2) we have friends from school that are already married...

3) we shake our heads everytime we see high school students fussing about their handphones in school..

4) we don't hang on the phone with our friends for hours a day talking about nothing...

5) when we meet back with our friends from time to time, we feel excited and happy talking about old times, the funny 'adventures' or stories that we experienced as a kid..

6) last but not least, that when you read this, you would think of all the happy & sad memories that you have experienced when you were still a kid nd would think of forwarding this to your old friends that you have known since forever... i'm sure they would have a huge smile on their face after reading this.....

p.s: if u feel u're one of them who experinced this, repost this to share it wif ur frens...

I read this, and I was laughing my head off. I can actually picture myself standing beside the long kang waiting for all my friends to get their toothbrushes and plastic cups.

Damper on my spirits

Yesterday, my singapore Aunt came back for a visit. And I was supposed to do for dinner wit Yew and McD cos my parents are going for dinner with my aunt and Yee has badminton. Later, Yew n I would go bowling with my friends. Mere minutes before my parents went out, my (paternal) grandma called, and she said she needed to go to the clinic because she doesn't feel well. Apparently the son that lived with her 'didn't' hear her asking him to bring her to the clinic.
So, with that, plans are changed and Yew and I have to go to the dinner instead =/
Which means that I most probably will be late for the bowling event.... T.T

But, luckily, bowling starts at 8, and we'll most prb be done by then...hehe...so we went to dinner with much lightened hearts. Meanwhile, dad would bring grandma to the clinic.

So dinner started and finished pretty much uneventfully, except for the part my uncle commented that I'm getting fatter and fatter.

-_-

I GET IT!!!!!! I'M FAT!!!!! DON'T HAVE TO RUB IT IN MY FACE LAR. LIKE YOUR OWN SON NOT FAT ISIT? POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK.

Actually, I'm not fat. I'm just chubby in some areas.

.............

@_@

yeah...............right. :/

So anyways, after that, we went bowling!!! at Crystal. But it was full, so wanted to go over to the Riverside one instead. But that would mean that we'll be back quite late, so didn't go in the end.

And that was the end of yesterday evening's happenings.

This morning, I woke up feeling fresh and exuberant. Notwithstanding the fact that it was almost ten lar...hehe...

I came down, and got the report (asked my dad) on what sickness my grandma had.

A minor heart attack.

My heart actually skipped a beat! In all my life, I have never actually thought that someone close to me would get a heart attack. Albeit a minor one, but still, it's shocking enough. When my paternal grandfather got a stroke, it was bad enough. Now added on that my grandma got a heart attack?!?!? I can tell that its taking it toll on my dad... =(

Now my dad's at the hospital looking after her, and I must say that I'm very disappointed in my uncle. I mean, he lives with her! How can he pretend not to hear her complaining that she has chest pains?!?!?! He wans to live there free and not take care of her ka? As if losing a dad is not enough isit? No sense of responsibility at all.Such lousy sons (even though he's my uncle). No filial piety at all. Would you want your son to treat you that way?

Joke of the day

One upon a time, in a land far far away....there was a forest where all the animals lived. Any animal conceivable lived in that forest. There was harmony and respect for each others' similarities and differences.

One day, the evil witch decided to spoil this harmony, because she wanted to invade the forest and make it her domain. So she gathered around all the animals of the forest, from the elephants to the lions, to the antelopes, and even up to the little fish.

And she said to the animals: "I am going to kill all of you. But, I will spare you if you can tell a joke, and all the animals laugh. Even if one animal doesn't laugh, you will die. Understood?"

All the animals nodded their consent, their fear of the witch was strong.

"So who will go first?" the witch asked.

The rabbit, who was the joker of the forest, volunteered. He felt that since he has made many animals laugh with all his previous jokes, this task should be an easy one.

He then told the funniest joke he could think of, and at the end of it, all the animals laughed, except one. The tortoise.

So the witch killed the rabbit.

Next up, the deer volunteered. After her joke, all the animals laughed, except one. The tortoise.

And the deer died as well.

Then, it was the anteaters' turn.

But just as the anteater was about to start his joke, the tortoise suddenly laughed.

"oh boy" he said, "the rabbit's joke was funny"

-_-"

Sah tortoise will always be slow...

Last Thursday

A funny thing happened last Thursday night when I was working.
My cousin-in-law came to bing! with his friends, and the first name that popped into my head was Francis. Apparently he didn't recognize me as he didn't show any signs of recognizing me. He ordered, like, 5 Iced Cappuccinos. =p
So, being my usual social self, I decided to start talking to him (of course, the fact that he's good looking also added to the appeal of talking to him, something I wouldn't do otherwise...)

..

..

..

..

..
So this is how it went:

me: You're Francis rite?

him: O_o

me: or Frank? (embarrassment seeps in...)

him: O_o"

me: You're Vivian's husband right?

him: (recognition dawns) Yes yes =)

me: I'm her cousin *big smile*

him: oh........................(la di da)

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

him: Oh, you're talking about Francis Lau is it? That's Ivy's husband. =D

me: -_-" *paiseh*

Needless to say, his name is NOT Francis. After much thought and consideration, I finally realised that Francis is the name of my OTHER cousin-in-law. My degree of 'paiseh-ness' increased tenfold. Rest assured, I shall not forget his name in the near future.

Btw, his name is Wei Han. No wonder I can't remember his name. Who in their right mind would remember someone's Chinese name after only meeting them almost 9 months ago??? But that's just my ego talking... =p

Funny how sometimes my 'social self' makes me look like a complete idiot...

Ghost Rider

Note to self: DO NOT buy combo 2 of popcorn and soda at star Cineplex when you're watching movies if you're not gonna share it with AT LEAST one other person.

Being the greedy person that I am, I got the combo 2 last night when I went to watch Ghost Rider with Yee, Yew, ALex, Ron, and Yee's colleague. the excuse I haven't had dinner does not apply in this case. Halfway through the popcorn, I realized that I CANNOT finish it, but with the thought of my mom's admonition running through my head [you know there are kids in Africa who are starving to death? You have food but you don't want to finish it. Wasting!!!!] I dutifully forced myself to finish up the popcorn

O_o

Is it any wonder why I'm getting more bloated up by the day?!?!?!

As a result of my binge, I was plagued by a horrendous stomachache late that night. Of course, the stomachache could also be due to the fact that we went to McD after that...=D

But I wasn't the only one!! Ronster shared in the pain too. He had gastrointestinal problems that prevented him from getting the beauty sleep he craves >p

Wait.............deviating from the main topic....talking bout Ghost Rider here.....

-_-"

ok, the movie wasn't half bad, although it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Nicholas Cage actually looked good...skulls and bony hands and all...hehe...Out of a 5, I would give it a 3.5. Do you know it was actually a marvel comics character??? I didn't know...until last night

...

...

...

...

...

Yeah..hehe...There was even a kinda cute supervillain, The Devil's son...Blackheart, I think his name was...also, not forgetting the hot Eva Mendes, who was (obviously) the heroine of the movie, and (incidentally) Nicholas Cage's long lost 'sign'................... ok, love. Long lost love.

So, synopsis (although most of you would know already by now, but what the heck).

Long long ago, there was this father and son team, Barton (or Bolton??) and Johnny Blaze, who make a living out of jumping through fire hoops and death defying stunts. So one day, Johnny's girlfriend, Roxanne told him that her father is sending her away to live with her mom. Johnny then made the split decision to 'kahwin lari' with her and told her to meet him at the same spot by noon tomorrow. But that night, Johnny found out that his father has cancer, and doesn't have mych time left to live. So he consoles himself by going out to the garage and fixing his old decrepit bike. That's when the devil decided to make an appearance, and offered him a deal. His father's health for an agreement to ride for him, the devil. Only Johnny doesn't know it's the devil, and he doesn't know that he's gonna be the devil's bounty hunter of sorts.

So the next day, Johnny wakes up and finds his father healthy as a horse, so he rejoices! but his celebration is short lived, however, because that day, his father was involved in an accident while doing a show, and died. He is sure it's the devils fault, and the devil finally told him the circumstances of the agreement (I have cured him, I didn't say anything about preventing him from dying any other way...etc...bla bla...) so the devil told Johnny that he can't let Johnny die, but all the years after that, whenever Johnny does death defying stunts, he always tries to crash and end his life. but every single time, he lives! (what are the odds of that??? -_-")

So fast forward........Johnny meets again with Roxanne, (needless to say, he didn't run away with her) and asks her for a date. She agrees and sets the time and place. that fateful night, The devil came for him, asking to 'cash in' on his 'investment'. Johnny is to find and dispose of Blackheart(the devil's son), and prevent him from getting the list of San Venganza. Its some kind of list with the names of the cruel and terrible people with the deal that they made with the devil. Whoever can get their hands on the list will be the most powerful supervillain on earth. Or so they say lar..

So anyway, Johnny becomes a man by day, and a ghost hunter by night, hunting out demons and BAD people. So he sets out to hunt for Blackheart, and manages to locate him, and Blackheart has Roxanne, and he exchanges her with the list, and they fight, and the ghost hunter wins, and the end! hehe....

But seriously, it's a great movie. There are some funny episodes in there, and you must have a dry sense of humour to appreciate it. Other wise, you're only gonna think it's lame.

but anyway, I got to go now....Haven't done OM yet.....

*blank*

Originally, wanted to blog about my CNY visiting with my friends, but since ron has put up the pics already, nevermind la..hehe... (-_-)"

well, what else should i blog about?
well, I got tagged by ron, so I shall try my best to answer yea...

Here goes...

Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave them each a comment letting them know you tagged them and to read your blog!

  1. I love Koosh balls =) Still remember those? those little rubber strands that they tie together into a ball.
  2. I love to watch the little fishies in my aquarium. I know they're not very 'ke si' like Mr Lim's ones, but sekadar cukup makan lar =p
  3. I have looooooooong bonding sessions with my sisters, they're so long, they usualy last half the night..hehe..
  4. I absolutely love caramel and hazelnuts!!! calories calories calories....@_@
  5. I like to channel surf, and simply watch anyting that catches my interest when I don't have to do other chores..
  6. I'm a very messy person =p

6 people I'd tag: Arlyne, Pris Robert, Sam Jo, Jo-jee, Yew, and Ivor!

^_^
