Little Lebanon

Super late post ahead....

So, when ehon came back, me, him, anna, angel, and ge went out for dinner at Little Lebanon, a restaurant located at the old courthouse, in the heart of Kuching city. With the lavish interior design and all that, I actually feared that i didn't bring enough money to pay for my meal! O_o" But when I looked at the menu, i heaved a sigh of relief, cos even though there WERE some expensive meals, there were also some at reasonable prices. And it helped alot that the food Queen was there to enlighten us on what we should, and shouldn't order ^_^

But enough of that, here are some pictures =)

This is me, ge, angel, and anna ^_^ previous schoolmates

Me and ge

With angel

Me, anna, ge

ehon

Anna loves her sheesh kebab =p

The lavish interior design, where customers can actually lie there, and smoke some shisha

shisha bottles. Shisha is available at RM 9 per bottle, and is available in many many flavours, some of which are fruit flavours =)

The buffet table, for large dinner purposes, I suppose.. =/

Cheese bread. Reminds you of the Lembas bread in LOTR where Frodo and Samwise partake of in the third movie, right?

I had this, Chicken Shawarmi wrap

Ge's fruit salad...she says she's on a diet, but she's already so skinny!!!

Anna's sheesh kebab with pita bread, briyani rice (i think), and onions.

A New Start

So, calendar of events for my new sem ahead...

1. Registration on 31 July, which basically means sitting down with the rest of the gang on Monday to decide and synchronise our timetables..

2. Classes commence on 6 August, so gonna STUDY STUDY STUDY for this semester...nothing can get in the way now =/

3. A new sem means a whole new load of assignments..a friend told me that since I'm starting out in Year 2 now, assignments will be mostly individually based.. *bites nails* can die!!!!!

4. I found out on Ron's blog, by an anonymous commentor, that Corporate Accounting, the next accounting subject that I'm about to take this semester is worse than FIS (financial information systems)..so really need to plant my butt on the table now.. *shudders*

So some random pictures for now..

This was taken in the evening, at the smoking zone in bing! Little tea light candles..

The little new Zealand girl whose family came over to bing! for lunch...so cute! she'll be 4 years old this coming 18th September... =)

Succulent cheries my singapore aunt brought over from singapore =p So tasty!!!! Definitely one of my favourite fruits/berries.. ^_^

Strawberries from over yonder from singapore =) A little sour, but still nice =p My mom says they're extremely expensive over there, so waste not!

One of the orchids at home...my dad's pride and joy....every morning, he'll be seen tending to them with tender loving care ^_^

Took this a few days back...haha..looks like one giant jellyfish hovering above all of us

This one looks more exciting ler...like one big flock of (evil) birds chasing after a phoenix..haha, imagination running away from me =p

This was waaaaay back...it was even my phone's wallpaper for a few weeks...such a clear rainbow in the sky...

Handmade a bookmark for myself, using the stickers we took the other day at hock lee ^_^ Can you see the little rainbow at the lower left hand corner?

Was at a loss as to what to put on the other side of the bookmark, so decided to creative write my name. Cantik kan??? *preen preen*

So, just another update, I finally told my lil brother how I felt, and we sorted it out =) Feels like a load has been taken off my chest, and am very glad that I finally took up the courage to say what I thought. Rest assured, that there will be more effort to communicate on my part ^_^

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE =)

Semester results

well, my results are out, and I have to say, I'm not too happy about them. Like Ron said, I think overconfidence got the better of me, ad I slacked. BIG TIME. So, no more resting on my laurels here for the next semester, gonna study my ass off, quit my job, and less going out time...Hopefully, I shall be able to see a better semester than the previous one...

*fingers crossed*

thoughts..

I met an old friend the other day, and somehow, we just got to talking about relationships. He’s just broken up with his girlfriend of four years the previous March. I asked him what happened, and he said “things happen”. Which is true..there is so much sacrifice to be made with maintaining a relationship that sometimes it just gets to be tedious. Forget relationships..even FRIENDSHIPS are getting hard to upkeep. It’s like with today’s lifestyle, you either make the effort to keep in touch, or kiss bye bye to your friendship.

It’s so funny, that even in this modern day and age, people just fall out of touch with each other. In the past, we had snail mail, and that gets lost in the mail sometimes, so there is STILL a reasonable excuse. But now modern technology has enabled us to just send mail with a click of the mouse, thus eliminating our excuse of the letter getting lost in the mail.

All this talk brings to mind a close friend of mine…this person shall remain anonymous. This person is studying overseas at the moment, and this person used to be quite close to me, to the point where even my parents trust this person very much. It doesn’t matter whether I’m out late or not, as long as they know that I’m with this person, then they know that I’m alright. So, this person came back for the holidays, and has made some new friends. And I’m glad for this person. Really, I am. But since then, this person has spent so much time with new friends that this person is almost at the brink of neglecting me. I know I sound shallow. I should let this person have the freedom to choose whoever this person wants to hang out with, and feel happy for this person. I DO feel happy for this person, but it DOES make me feel unimportant somehow.. =(

Maybe it’s my fault, for not keeping in touch, or whenever I’m online, this person isn’t, or whenever this person is online, I’m not. The timing sometimes just isn’t right. Or maybe when I log on, this person logs off. Maklumlar, the time difference. When it’s night for me, its day there, or night there, day here. Then, me also one kind lar, never thought of mailing this person. So how to stay close like that? You tell me…

*Sorry, always using –this person- *

Is seven years of close friendship enough to keep our bond strong? I don’t know. But from past experience, there has to be commitment involved. No use just saying it, you have to mean it.

All this thinking is getting to my head…

I need rest…

A date!

I got this story from a friend, who emailed it to me..and I felt that it was really touching...I cried at the end...so here goes:

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie.

She said, "I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you."

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

"What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

"I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you," I responded. "Just the two of us."

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, "I would like that very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed t hat she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date.

She waited at the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress
that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.

"I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed," she said, as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting".

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy.
My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady.

After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Large print. Half way through the entrees,
I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.

"It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small," she said.

"Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation - nothing extraordinary, but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack.
It happened so suddenly that I didn't get to do anything for her.

Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined.

An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son."

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: "I LOVE YOU!"
and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.

Nothing in life is more important than God and your family. Give them the time they deserve,
because these things cannot be put off till "some other time."

Starbucks....finally

This cat rasa diri poser ler =.="
(Taken at Expert, BDC area)

I finally went to Starbucks!!!!!! But was a little disappointed ler… -_-" Mainly for these reasons:

  1. The selection of drinks was minimal. Bing! has more drinks than that. But I would be bias ler…so don’t trust my judgement =p
  2. The atmosphere was not conducive enough. There were umbrellas, and it was obvious that it WASN’T going to rain, the chairs were made of hard wood, and the coffee table was lower than the chair. So if you want to rest your hands on something, it’s DEFINITELY not gonna be on the table..but then again, depends on your own opinion ler...I prefer my table to be higher than the seat
  3. There were too little sitting areas with more than five seaters.
  4. It’s at the airport! (but I knew that already, so doesn’t actually count) but still…my Caramel Macchiato cost RM15 instead of RM 13, cos I (actually, Wei Khee) had to pay an additional RM 2 just for the parking…

*Note to self: next time, if I want to have Starbucks, have it to go, so can just curi parking at the visitors lane for a while =p

Clockwise from left to right (all Grande sized): my Caramel macchiato, Wei Khee's Cafe Latte, Ron's cappucino (with cinnamon topping), and Lil's Caramel Frappe

So, other than that, me, lil, ron and wei khee had quite a good time. Most of it was spent camwhoring ler =.="

So lets review my drink…I love Caramel, so I had the Grande sized Caramel Macchiato, and it tasted almost like bing!'s one (I think same recipe), but I didn’t like the cup it was served in…

Couldn’t see the layers le… =( Call me sensitive, but that’s what working in a FnB place would do to you ^.~

But ANYWAY….talking will only get you so far…so here are pictures for you to enjoy! ^_^

*BIG DADDY* lol... -_-"
