I'm going KL!

In a few more hours, I’ll be on my way to KL!!! Will be there to attend the Malaysian Lasallian Education Assembly, which will be held at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre near Jalan Pudu.

Am really looking forward to meet my fellow lasallians there, as well as the people from La Salle Centre..we’ll be there for three days, two nights, and I’ll be flying home on Sunday evening..so, no missing classes for me, which is just as well, as I have loads of tests and assignments due ^^

While I’m there, will be killing two birds with one stone =p will be meeting my sis as well. And we’ll meet up at burger king over onion rings, and coke! Hehe..

Who else will be going? There’s Norman Goh, Dr Lim Choon Yang, and Mr Louis Ng. So, two old lasallians, and two young ones. Hehe..

Let’s hope we can keep the lasallian spirit flying high and soaring ever upward!!

Success!!

A very big thank you to everyone who made the International Day of Prayer for Peace a success!!!! After a grueling 7 hour preparation (not including all those wednesday evenings planning for it), we finally managed to pull it off! An approximate number of 40 people came, and I think it was quite favourable!!! ^^

So I would like to thank:

Pn Stella : for all the help in liaising with the school for the use of the auditorium and the young boys for enlisting their help

Norman : Thanks for all the lanterns and the banners! really superb =)

Jasmine and Agan : you guys did a great job emcee-ing! I wouldn't have done better ^^

Kevin, Ambia and Salim : Great bonfire! the best we had in ages!

Howard : good work with the powerpoint slides! It was a pleasure having you with us

Ronnie and Lilian : Great prayer cards, affirmation slips, candles, and for all the beautiful lanterns hanging from tiang to tiang =p

Jonas : thanks for doing the documenting of the day!

Jonathan : Thanks for doing everything you can to help us out, be it getting the extension cords, or even getting old newspapers and stuff =p

Raphael : Thanks for helping us arrange the auditorium into some semblance of order ^^

Caesar : Thanks for helping us with the lanterns and the arranging of the tealight candles around the pond

All young boys : Thanks for taking the time out from your exams to help us in our event ^^

Photographers : Thanks for taking the photographs for us! =)

All those present : Thanks for coming and making this day a success!!!

Basically, that's it..if there is anyone out there that I forgot to mention, I'm very sorry, I didn't mean to forget you yea...you were equally important to this event ^^

We managed to collect quite a large amount of money, and the money will be used to buy necessities for the children in the children's home located at Jalan Uplands.

No pics for now...will upload them when I have the chance ^^

*updated* Thanks also to Wei Khee for being such a great sport whenever the three of us are discussing our activities for this event, and for giving opinions where it's needed (and not needed as well) =p

*updated* Thanks to Paulynn for helping us out as well =) Thanks for distributing the fliers, hanging up the lanterns, as well as collecting the donations! ^^

A world of thanks

Remember how in my previous post I was talking bout being sleep deprived cos of my budgeting assignment? Well...it's all in the past now, as I have handed up our assig last week ^^

Many many thanks to Ron for being my diligent assig partner, and for slaving through the monster of an assignment with me ^^

And seriously, we would not have been able to do it without the help of some selfless people, who were willing to spend their time to help us figure out where we went wrong.

Made some gifts and thank you cards for them, and handed them out this morning. But the really kek-kin thing was when I gave our gift to Jacob, he pula go and say:
"what's this? engagement present isit??"

*pengsan*

How many times must I say leh???? we only good friends lerr... -_-"

Raya so far...

Today is the third day of Raya...and to date I have gone visiting to four houses. Only.

Sighs...blame it on the work!!! haha..first day was spent trying to find the way to Izat's place..when we were on our way there, by coincidence Izat went out to pick Joseph, Bello, and friends from Swin..so we had approximately 30 minutes with nothing to do..so we went to the Semariang area KFC..Wei Khee was hungry... =p By the time we actually reached Izat's place, it was already 2:45 pm..and I have work at 4pm..oh, and wk's car couldn't start =p

Group pic we took at Choice Food at Matang Jaya, after we went to Izat's house ^^

Second day of Raya, I went to two houses, both of which are my parent's colleagues..wanted to go to a few more houses, but they weren't home... *shrugs* and yes, I had to go work again at 4pm..and work that night (yesterday) was super hectic!!!! I had to be barista and cashier..cos the barista that night suddenly couldn't work cos he was sick...and I had to cover for him... @_@

The array of cactuses my mom's colleague has...

On another totally different note, this is my short term resolution: earn/save enough money to get this watch ^^ Pretty right?? =)

The beach at Sematan...

Trees.....

Ehon's 21st...

I admit....super late post....two weeks late, in fact...*paiseh*

So........last 30 Sept 2007 was Ehon's bday...^^ and since we couldn't go teman him at Ipanema that night, we (me, lil, ge) decided to celebrate his bday for him at Kaya and Toast, Tabuan Jaya branch.

The birthday cake ---> cheesecake =) *slurps*

The birthday boy

Making a wish and blowing out the candles...

Yea, the three of us had to stuff his mouth...literally =p

Me and my lil bro

The three of us chimuis =)

There were actually some more pictures...but most of them was taken with Ge's camera...so haven't had the chance to get it from her yet....but will try to get it asap! =)

Sleep deprived

Uni life damn hectic lar….just finished one assig, and another one comes in. -_-“

If you think doing budgets is easy, then you’ve never actually did a budget in your entire life.

Especially when you have to do an estimated Balance Sheet after doing all the other budgets, and the balance sheets don balance!!

This past week has been tiring..didn’t have enough sleep and I look like an oversized panda bear now…

Like, I really need sleep.

And another consolidations assignment coming up!

How to live like this? T_T

Desperado

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?

You been out ridin' fences for so long now

Oh, you're a hard one

But I know that you got your reasons

These things that are pleasin' you

Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy

She'll beat you if she's able

You know the queen of hearts is always your

best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things

Have been laid upon your table

But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger

Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you

home

And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some

people talkin'

Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?

The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine

It's hard to tell the night time from the day

You're losin' all your highs and lows

Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?

Come down from your fences, open the gate

It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you

You better let somebody love you

(let sombody love you)

You better let somebody love you

before it's too late

I rediscovered this song few days back...reminded me again how I really love oldies..even if it's sung by Westlife =p

International Day of Prayer for Peace

Dear friends,

Here in Malaysia we would like to heed the above call for solidarity by playing our own small part. La Salle Centre, in collaboration with the Malaysian Lasallian Youth Commission, invites all of you to join us in a nationwide, month-long Lasallian initiative to show our support towards a movement of peace.

21st September 2007 is the United Nations’ sanctioned International Day of Peace. Starting September 21st, we invite you to come up with ways to be part of this worldwide prayer for peace, together with our Lasallian brothers and sisters from all over. For one month, we invite you to live a simpler less-lavish life, maybe cut down on movies or dining out, or SMSes or even take up fasting for a day or two together with our Muslim friends.

The money we would have otherwise spent would be collected and channeled to a peace initiative like Mercy Malaysia or other local charity organisations to help further their efforts in bringing hope and peace to troubled areas. Whatever simple act you choose is fine, as long as it’s sincere and comes from the heart. =)

The culmination of this one month, 20th October, will see Lasallians and the public coming together for an inter-religious gathering in their respective regions all over the country, to celebrate our hopes and prayers for peace of the world. At this gathering, you can choose to perform a symbolic act, like paint a mural or light candles or write letters to Heads of States, in solidarity with people all over the world who do not get to enjoy peace like we do.

We hope for your support in realising this month-long initiative. Let us play what small role we can and contribute to the universal prayer for peace.

Thank you and Salam La Salle

~~~
The Sarawak regional Lasallian International Day of Prayer for Peace would be held as follows:
Day : Saturday, 20th October 2007
Venue : Auditorium Tan Sri William Tan, St. Joseph's Secondary School
Time : 7:45 p.m.
