Way Back Into Love

I was watching Music and Lyrics the other night on HBO, and I heard the theme song sung by Hugh Grant and Haley Bennet (I think that's how her name is spelt). Such a beautiful melody, beautiful lyrics. Really one song worth it to keep. =)

I would post the song up here for you all, but blogger doesn't seem to have that feature, not to mention the fact that I don't want to get caught for illegal disribution of music.. =p
But, just read through the lyrics, and you'll know why it caught my eye. ^^

Enjoy

WAY BACK INTO LOVE
By: Hugh Grant and Haley Bennet

I’ve been living with a shadow overhead
I’ve been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I’ve been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can’t seem to move on

I’ve been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need em again someday
I’ve been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love
Oh oh oh

I’ve been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I’ve been searching but I just don’t see the signs
I know that it’s out there
There’s got to be something for my soul somewhere

I’ve been looking for someone to shed some light
Not just somebody just to get me through the night
I could use some direction
And I’m open to your suggestions

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love

And if I open my heart again
I guess I’m hoping you’ll be there for me in the end

There are moments when I don’t know if it’s real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can’t make it through without a way back into love

And if I open my heart to you
I’m hoping you’ll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I’ll be there for you in the end

Question.

Is it better to live in uncertainty, than to live with the knowledge?

Happiness

It’s such a happiness to come back after a crappy day at uni and find your dog waiting for you at the gate with his tail wagging. Although he got mud all over your shirt in the end. -_-"

A wet affair... =p

Haha.....I bathed Leo today..with Yew. And I tell you, I always knew that dogs will shake off the water whenever they get wet. What I didn't know, is that the moment they shake it off, and if you are beside them, you get as wet as they are -_-"

Prior to bath time, Leo was scrounging for stuff at the back of the garden...although I can't be sure what he was looking for. Needless to say, he had muddy paws, and muddy....other parts of the body..haha..

And one red ant was stuck to his fur. Both Yew and I were afraid to take the ant out. We even debated over who would be the one taking the ant. You see, the ant was actually still alive, and we both had not had a pleasant encounter with the red ant. Haha...so old liaw but still so scared of one miniscule red ant. But, that's us =p

In the end, we took a towel, and tried to take it out with it. =p and yes, we managed to take it out. And we saw another one stuck near his jaw -_-" But try as I might, we can't take it out ler..you know how red ants have this sticky kind of feet which clings to whatever surface there is? Yes. Those little lousy feet (if you could call it that) were stuck to Leo's fur.

So in the end we left it there, and he bit it..haha..

But i guess even though it's tiring to bathe him, it would also be something I wouldn't mind doing again. Just as long as I'm not washing the 'other' parts of him =p

true story

BTW...was blog hopping and found this story..according to Nai Lin, it's a true story. After reading it, felt truly heartwarmed. =)

I'm still feeling kinda down, but I guess this cheers me up somewhat..

Click *here*

Random bits

Leo pounced on me today. After I got back from Pre-U day. Which was not a problem, really. Except that I was wearing my jeans and schooling clothes and he had mud on his paws. -_-"""

It would have been fine and dandy if I was wearing the clothes I usually wear around the house. I would even gladly welcome the pounce. But, as it seems, Leo has managed to get mud over my clothes, and since I got back kinda in a lousy mood today, it made the experience not too good for me.

I guess if I was in a happier mood, I would have welcomed it. I mean, it was the first time Leo pounced on me, and that means that he sees me as a friend, and trusts me (or maybe it was because I fed him his jerky yesterday and he's thinking of getting more from me). And that's looking at things from a positive perspective. =p

The day actually started off on a positive note. I went to uni anticipating what the day would bring and what kind of parents we would meet today. And somewhere along the line, things happened, and brought me down from my sense of positivity. It's really crappy when you go to uni expecting something, and got a totally different experience. Don't get me wrong, it was a pleasure working with the other SSSC members, and I would love to work with them again. It was something else.

End of story. Don't come asking me what happened. Because unless I trust you , I wouldn't tell you.

We've got a dog.....

.....to babysit for the next two weeks. and his name is Leo. And he's a mixed breed between a terrier and a local dog. And he's black in colour. And I think he's not akil baligh yet =p

Actually they belong to my sister's friend, but since he's migrating to KL in a few days, they're not sure if he can be brought over to KL or not or if there are certain regulations to bringing an animal overseas (even if it IS within Malaysia). So in the meantime, Leo's gonna be staying with us for this fortnight, and it will be our duty to bathe him, feed him, and make sure he poops. =)

No pictures for now, but Lilian has already booked a place with me either tomorrow or Saturday night for viewing and bonding purposes.. ^^

Cry on my shoulder

Wee Chung let me hear this song a few days ago, and I really fell in love with it...summore, the lyrics were really good...and yes, it's an old song. I really don't know why it took me so long to realise it's existence...

Cry on My Shoulder
~Deutschland~ (I think)

If the hero never comes to you
If you need someone, you're feeling blue
If you wait for love, and you're alone
If you call your friends, nobody's home

You can run away but you can't hide
Through a storm and through a lonely night
Then I'll show you there's a destiny
The best things in life, they are free

Chorus~
But if you wana cry, cry on my shoulder
If you need someone who cares for you
If you're feeling sad, your heart gets colder
Yes, I'll show you what real love can do

If your sky is grey, oh let me know
There's a place in heaven they will go
If heaven is a million years away
Oh, just call me and I'll make your day

When the nights are getting cold and blue
When the days are getting hard for you
I will always be here by your side
I promise you, I'll never hide

Chorus~ x2

What real love can do..

BC Pics II

The dinner we went to the day before we left for KK to participate in the Borneo Cup. It was at Garden Hill, the place where Tapanga used to be, but the food was a rip off ler..so little, and yet so expensive..

3rd Borneo Cup

Just got back from KK, where I entered the 3rd Borneo Debating Championship. Since it was an Asian style debate, we were grouped up into groups of threes. Ann, Evelyn and I formed one group, whilst Paul, Sophia and Izzudin formed another. Nick and Kevin both went as adjudicators..

I must say, debating three rounds in one day is very tiring!!! We had to go through four prelim rounds, before the Grand Dinner, where the announcements of the teams that manage to break to the quarter finals are released. My team won two rounds and lost two rounds, and we had already expected not to break into the quarters. We had not such high expectations, you see..cos we are still newbies and are there to do our best, and to gain as much experience as we can.

So imagine our surprise when the organisers announced that we had managed to break into the quarters! I was so shocked, I couldn't even smile or show any other reaction at all. I honestly thought that my team would no break at all. The rest of the night flew by in a blur...

The next day, it was the quarter rounds, followed by the semi finals, followed by the finals that night.

When the motion for the quarter finals were released, and we were preparing for it, I was a little apprehensive about whether or not we would be able to get through it. We were the government, and the motion was: This House Would Make an Aboriginal Australian Member of Parliament Mandatory. and we were up against UMS 2, the team that ranked third in the breaking to the quarters. What chance did we, the team that ranked sixth, have?

But amazingly, we trumped them with a 2-1 win. and we moved along into the semifinals. This time, we were put up against UNIMAS 2, the team that beat the ranked number 1 team breaking to quarters, UiTM Sabah 1. The motion? This House Believes that Torture for Interrogation of Terrorist Suspects in Justifiable. And we were the opposition. Coming out of the debate room, we were in low spirits because we thought we had not done very well. Some points the opponent raised, we didn't manage to handle properly.

So imagine our surprise when the Chief Adjudicator announced that we were going to the finals! (with a split decision of 4-1) I could have sworn, my mouth remained open even after 5 minutes of the announcement. We really hadn't expected it at all. After conversing with the other judges, it seems that the issues we raised were more pertinent than the issues raised by the government. So now, we are going to the finals. *phew*

The motion for the finals, were: This House Would make Voting for the Malaysian General Elections Compulsory. We were up against UiTM Sarawak 1, and we were again, the opposition. Before the finals, we made a deal amongst ourselves, to try our best, and that no matter what the verdict, we will have no regrets. After all, we were kinda like the underdogs, right? the team with virtually no experience, but managing to go all the way to the finals.

Sadly, we didn't manage to win. We chose the wrong stance, but there were other areas in which we didn't prioritize that well. But we have tried our best. And that speaks volumes. After all, we are the second best debate team in the Borneo Cup right?? haha..anyways....pictures:

The females who went to Borneo Cup: Evelyn, Sophia, Me, and Ann

With Kevin Tan, one of my trainers and mentor, which I hold in very high esteem. Mind you, he also went all the way to the finals in the Borneo Cup the previous year =)

My other trainer and mentor, Nick Chong. Although sometimes sarcastic to a point, he actually is a nice person. =p

With my team and the trophy, Evelyn, me, and Ann. I am very grateful that they were in this competition with me, and I wouldn't have been able to go this far without them =)

With my two mentors and trainers, who are, very definitely, very proud of me..hehe..

This was taken with one of the guys I met during my rounds in the Preliminaries. He's from the Asian Tourism Institute, and a member of the Swing team.

More pictures to follow, but I need to get them from Sophia first =) After all, she's the camerawoman..haha...
