Review: Cabin in the Woods (2012)

Thanks to Nuffnang, I got to catch the screening of this movie at e@Curve :) It was a pretty tough decision to watch either Battleship or Cabin, but bb really wanted to watch this, so decided to forgo Battleship and catch this instead (even though I don't really like horror films)

So what's this all about?

Synopsis: Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen.
If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.
Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.

Verdict: 6/10 :/ The horror scenes were done pretty well. Or maybe not so well, am not entirely sure considering I was hidden underneath my scarf and behind bb's hand most of the time :p  What kinda put me off was the way they jumped from horror scene to control centre, or maybe I don't know how to appreciate it. I would admit the concept was pretty different from other horror genre films, so perhaps for me it was an acquired taste >.<

okok, maybe if pushed I will give it a 7. Let the killing spree begin!! :p

Cabin in the Woods opens on 13th April (Friday the 13th concept, I like :p) so go catch it if you're a horror buff :)
