CNY Series 2: Celebrating with the Bloggers, Kuching Style

On the fifth day of CNY, some Kuching bloggers decided to meet up and go crash each other's houses just for the fun of it :D

We started off at Sherrie's place, before heading out to lunch at Life Cafe, thereafter going to Jun Fook's house, Daniel's pad, and lastly, my crib. We didn't have enough time to visit Jian's house, but there's always next year :D

I think the happiest of our convoy was Baby Hippo :p he was given so much attention, I'm pretty sure he was unsure how to react :p

This CNY sad to say, has been a little boring for me :p I know, with two weeks to kill in Kuching, it’s actually a good opportunity for me to relax, and resettle my mind and take a look at my priorities. I’ve done all the above, and still have time to kill :p

Weddings

The past month and a half has been a rather hectic month for me, with many things going on at work, and personally. It was also a time that I was given the honour to celebrate a few of my friends getting married :)

So this post is just to celebrate the wonderful newlyweds, and I wish that you all have a long life full of marital bliss :)

Happy Chinese New Year 2012!!!!

For many of my Chinese friends, Friday marks the beginning of the exodus back to their respective hometowns. For me, it's not much different. I'm going back too!!! Not on Friday, but still going back nonetheless :)

21st National Lasallian Leaders' Convention

In 2004,  I had my first taste of La Salle when I went for the 14th National Lasallian Leaders' Convention (or NLLC for short). John Baptist de La Salle was a priest, educational reformer, and founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. He is a saint of the Roman Catholic church, and the patron saint of teachers. After the convention, I went back to Kuching with a passion, to be an inspiration to those around me and to uphold the Lasallian Spirituality of Faith, Service, and Community.

Review: Contraband (2012)

Thanks to Churp Churp, I managed to catch the premiere screening of Contraband, starring Mark Wahlberg and the beautiful Kate Beckinsale of 'Underworld' fame.

Synopsis: Contraband is a fast-paced thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked so hard to leave behind and the family he’ll do anything to protect. Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling—full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs—where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away.

8th January 2012 marks the day my car died and was resurrected again.

It was working all fine in the morning when I woke up and drove him to bb's house, but when I wanted to start him up again, he had heart failure. This is the first time something of the sort has ever happened to me so naturally I started panicking. Flat tyres I have encountered before, and heck I have changed tyres on bigger cars than my little Viva. Twice. I even wrote a post about it *click here*

Review: Personalised Calendar from Phototalkz

The start of a new calendar year sees many of us scrambling to either get new calendars for the office, or new planners to note down our many activities and exciting appointments for the coming year. Being in my line of work, I need a desktop calendar that I can know at a glance what appointments I have for the week/ month, BUT I don't really like the generic calendars that we can get out there in the shops (or the free calendar that we get from various events).

Hello 2012 :)

As is the case with every new year, it is time again to sit down and look back on whether I have fulfilled my resolutions in 2011, and to create new ones for 2012.

Way back in 2011, the below are what I have set out to achieve in 2011:

1. Once again, putting my priorities in line. I think this is a little too vague, as my priorities change with time. I should be decidedly more specific in the future. On a whole, I think this warrants a 50/50
2. Doing better than I am currently, at work. I just recently got promoted before the end of the year, so I would say, achieved :)
3. Personal KPI, someone over the horizon? Found my bb <3 although for the record, he found me first >.<
4. Be that leaning shoulder for my loved ones, be their pillar of strength. Perhaps another 50/50. Sometimes being there, and sometimes not. In light of recent events in the first two days of 2012, I think I have failed this terribly. :(
5. Manage my EQ better. Less angry, and less tears shed. Perhaps a 60/40 success.


So how about 2012? What will I set out to do this year? Let's put it in purple this year, cos it's your favourite colour :)
