Project Ten (10)

Here is part of the news extracted from the Borneo Post Online today (The leading English Paper in East Malaysia)

Blind house owner Oyo Emang Ngau, 68, his wife Lintu, 41, and their 14 year old daughter escaped a fire which broke out in the kitchen of their house at Jalan Stapok Utama in Batu Kawah at midnight yesterday.

Oyo heard something explode in the kitchen and realised that a fire had broken out. The couple were led to safety by their daughter, and managed to secure some important documents and some belongings.

The couple has been staying in the house for the past eight years, and are employed at Sarawak Society for the Blind centre at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee.

Oyo said the family will be putting up with a neighbour for the time being while he figure out how to find the money to repair the damaged portion of his house.

THAT WAS WHEN PROJECT TEN WAS BORN.

Head to their facebook page today to learn more :)

So what is Project Ten?
It's a group of young people from Kuching, who are committed to try and assist Mr. Oyo and his family to get back on their feet.

Why Project Ten?
All you need is RM10. Just donate RM10 to the cause, and the money will be channeled to Oyo on the 7th April 2013.

If I do not want to donate money?
You can also donate electrical appliances and furniture :) If you have any unwanted appliances at home, why not give it away to Mr. Oyo? A little thing goes a long way

Wow, this is an interesting initiative! How can I help?
As per their facebook page, you can follow these simple steps:
1. E-mail them at [email protected] or send them a message (Facebook) to express your interest
2. Bank in your donation to
(Name) Avril Anak Peter (Bank account) 1103-0020-3915-27 - CIMB
3. Send them your bank slip via e-mail or Facebook message
