Review: Burgertory @ SS15, Subang Jaya [Non-Halal]

Hey folks :D How's everyone's tummy feeling today? hungry? thinking of where to eat? Well if you like Pork and you love Burgers, then you might want to check out Burgertory :)

Burgertory is that little burger joint located above Guardian, one block before the Maybank branch at ss15 in Subang Jaya. Opened just recently in March 2013, the entire shop was DIY'd by the owners of the place. All in all, it took about 6-8 months to complete, coupled with the recipe and sourcing of ingredients, etc.

Burgertory is the only place selling pork burgers (that I know of) out of the other major burger joints mushrooming all over the city.

When I entered the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to see a minimalistic interior, with little to no wall coverings and decorations. It kinda reminded me of the Hungry Hog, but with slightly less decorations. Personally for me, I like these kind of settings because it doesn't detract me from enjoying my food and the company I'm with. I'm able to interact with my friends more without my gaze being distracted by the writings on the walls.

Ordering is self service at the counter, where they have plastered a BIG menu (below) where you can survey and order the perfect burger to whet that appetite!

According to the owners, the beef and pork served are 100% premium, all sourced from the freshest suppliers they could find. That is why their patties are so juicy and delectable :) No chicken burgers served here, so if you want a chicken burger, I would suggest to go to the McD down the road and grab that McChicken instead :p

Drinks are free flow (yay for free flow!!) and this is something I look forward to in every restaurant I frequent.

This is William, giving us bloggers the low-down on the history of Burgertory and their journey of discovering the world of entrepreneurship and F&B. Endless hours were poured into research, extensive travel to various countries to taste the different burger tastes, all to find what would suit the Malaysian palate best.

Hence, all their buns, patties, and sauces are 100% home made, and made daily! :) As their ingredients are all fresh, this means that their ingredients are also limited to ensure that their ingredients are all turned over. Hence, the really popular burgers will sell out fast, so if you do decide to come to Burgertory, please be sure to be early :)

Burgertory places a very high emphasis on an open concept kitchen, where everything is transparent and you can see what goes on in the kitchen. They have nothing to hide, and there's full disclosure on what goes on :) Me likey!

Moving on to the burgers!!!!! mouthwatering already?? :D

Burgertory Hot Smoke (RM15.00 ala carte)
This little burger is called Hot Smoke! A normal beef burger, but wrapped in a paper bag so when you open it up, smoke comes out, hence the very catchy name, Hot Smoke :) The set you see above is the meal set, where you get a drink, onion rings, fries, and mozarella sticks with cheese dip with an additional cost of RM5.00.

Moving forward, all prices shown after this are for ala carte ya :)

Shrooming Bull (RM15.50)
The Shrooming Bull contains........mushrooms! :p It is also filled with cheddar cheese, button mushrooms, and 100% grass-fed beef (actually I dunno what else you can feed cows besides grass :p). Anyways, this is one of my favourites because they have mushrooms :D I'm always a sucker for mushrooms so whenever I see them on the menu, I would order that unless I see something else that interests me.

Bacon and Cheese Plus + (RM24.00)
Double the pork, double the bacon, double the cheese! Don't order this if you are afraid of getting cardiac arrest the next day. This burger might look small, but it packs a mighty big punch! Because it has double of everything, it is extremely filling, so unless you're a big eater, I would suggest you go for other things in the menu which is more your size :P

The Pioneer (RM17.00)
Consisting of a pork patty, mild Cheddar Cheese, sliced cabbage, tobiko (fish roe), crab meat, and Pimento sauce, this burger reminds me of a split personality. It has pork, AND seafood :p best of both worlds, I would say :p It does have a unique taste, of the juicy pork, coupled with the slight rubberish taste of the crabmeat. A must try for the adventurous :D

Mascarpone Curry and Cheese (RM15.00)
This is a new item on their menu, and reminds me of the tall buildings in a sci fi movie :p It includes mild Cheddar cheese, fried egg, onion rings, mascarpone curry sauce & 100% premium pork in their list of ingredients, and interestingly enough, the taste of the curry complements the pork quite well. Who says curry is only meant for chicken or beef? I seriously beg to differ! If you want to try something new with a twist, order this :)

Burgertory Treasure (RM13.00)
See those little bits of meat on top of the burger patty? What do you think it is? :p Those are crispy pork lards yo! :p sadly I did not manage to try this out cos it was consumed so fast, I was too late T.T but from what I hear, this is THE burger for all pork lovers out there!

Caramelised Onion (RM13.00)
This particular pork burger comes with mild Cheddar Cheese, and homemade brown onions :) Cheesy and salty and sweet all at the same time, this is a burst of flavour in your mouth. I this this is a special combination that will tickle your tastebuds, so if you love onions, don't miss out on this!

Burgertory is open every Tuesday to Sunday, from 6:00pm - 11:00pm. Do drop by if you're wanting a porky kick :D

You know, one of the reasons I like Burgertory is their affordable price. If you ave the burger ala cart, it's not over RM20 (except the bacon plus+), and if you're a stickler for food prices being lower than RM15, then you can try the other pork burgers that range between RM13-15, and I guarantee you, it is very filling. Definitely worth it for a taste of delectable pork burgers and a good time :)
