Movie Review: Monsters University (2013)

When I was little, I have never been scared that there was a monster under my bed or in the closet, because my closet wasn't a walk in closet, and there's no space under my bed cos there were drawers! *lame moment* but yea, it has been 12 years since Monsters Inc. came out, and now, they have a prequel to it, Monster's University!

Synopsis: Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

The faternity that Mike and Sully eventually joined, the Oozma Kappas :p

Verdict: 7/10. It's a good movie to watch with family, and the good thing about it is that if you missed Monster Inc. 12 years ago, it's ok, because this movie is actually a prequel to Monsters Inc.

In this particular animation, I liked how they actually featured Mike's life, instead of just centering on Sully (which they featured in Monsters Inc.) It's the typical story of a zero to hero kinda fella, and at some parts, it really got me rooting for them, so much so that halfway through the movie I gave a little squeak of encouragement that they won a contest, and le bb gave me a funny look. Lucky it was a squeak, and not an exclamation :p

This is the start of a unique friendship :)

There were some parts that were funny and cheesy, but because it's an animation catered more to kids and young adults, I'll let it pass. If you've had a rough week at work and just want to chill out with some laughs, I would recommend that you watch this, and relax. :)

If I had to pick which one is better between Monsters Inc and University, I would say Inc is better in terms of storyline. University gives off a kinda cliche storyline, but it's still good nonetheless :p
