- Shiny Black 01, for vivid and high impact eyes;
- Shiny Brown 02 for soft, natural eyes; and
- Shiny Pink White 03 for dolly, innocent eyes
Shiny Black and Shiny Brown are to be used as a normal eyeliner, but Shiny Pink White can be used as an under eye liner, to create the much coveted tear tanks eye bags that are all the rage now in Korea and Japan.
The Shiny Jewel Eyeliner is Kiss Me's latest bestselling product, and I will be talking about Shiny Brown 02 :) Shiny Brown has a deep brown colour that will give you natural looking eyes with striking impact. As they are not black in colour, it creates a soft look that is suitable for everyday wear. With shiny glitters in the liner, it instantly lights up eyes with glamorous glitters. The Shiny Jewel Eyeliner contains three types of beauty essence - collagen, sodium hyaluronate, and chamomile extract.
One thing I love about Kiss Me products is that they are resistant to tears, sweat, sebum, and rubbing. It is waterproof, but will also be easily removable with lukewarm water. This is one of the selling points that I love about Kiss Me, because I do not have to rub my eyes very hard to remove the liner, and I can easily wash them off in the shower :)
The liner brush is an ultra thin brush for easy application around the edge of your eyes. Therefore you can easily create precise lines around and on the outer corners of your eyes, on top of determining the thickness of your liner! So I can draw thicker lines for a night out, and thin lines for a soft workday wear!
The brush enables you to draw fine lines.....
...and thick lines, and still look great :)
When I buy an eyeliner, I will always make sure that the liner I buy passes the waterproof and smudgeproof test. So similarly, I also put this liner to the test, and here are my findings below
Water resistant test
While most of the liner stays on, a little bit of the liner comes off, though not too much that it's noticeable, and I don't really mind that.
Taken under natural light. Even under natural light, you can clearly see the glitters
Taken under direct sunlight. The glitters are clearer, and stands out
The liner passes this test with flying colours :D Once it dries, it doesn't smudge at all, not even after a full day, and oily eyelids. So, personally for me, this is definitely a keeper.
Comparison with Brand X
There is one other brand in the market with a similar type of product, which is liquid liner with little glitters in the eyeliner itself. So, I compared it with Kiss Me's Shiny Jewel Eyeliner, and this is what I have to say.
Kiss Me's liner has a thicker consistency, so it doesn't run as much when I apply it. Brand X's liner is more watery, and therefore will spread out quite a lot, and I didn't really like it when I have to draw a thin line.
Kiss Me's liner is darker compared with Brand X's liner, and therefore this makes the glitter more obvious in Kiss Me's liner. A darker colour also looks nicer, compared to Brand X, as Brand X's colour looks more bronze than dark brown.
Kiss Me Shiny Jewel Eyeliner also comes in a 3.0 ml packaging, which is more than Brand X's 2.5ml.
So basically, after comparison, Kiss Me Shiny Jewel Eyeliner wins hands down over Brand X. I guess the only good thing about Brand X is that they are cheaper than Kiss Me. But at RM49.90 apiece for Kiss Me, I would say that Kiss Me Shiny Jewel Eyeliner is also quite affordable.
So what do I think of Kiss Me's Shiny Jewel Eyeliner? I love using it! I think that it really delivers what it promises to do, and is arguably the best product in its class in the market out there.
Would you want to give this eyeliner a try?
Kiss Me's Shiny Jewel Eyeliner retails for RM49.90 for a 3.0ml bottle, and is available at selected Watsons and SASA outlets.
