Event: Tmall World’s “Double 12” 24-hour Holiday Sale launches in Malaysia

Following the success of 11.11, Alibaba Group’s Tmall World (天猫海外), serving over 100 million overseas Chinese and beyond, launched its ‘Double 12”, 24-hour holiday sale in conjunction with the festive season! Millions of products will feature special discounts and will be available to Malaysian consumers via the Mobile Taobao app on the 12th of December 2017 (that's tomorrow!). This will be a special 3-day celebration as an encouragement to Malaysians to spread the Holiday cheer when they shop for their friends and loved ones. 

“Double 12”, or more commonly known as “12.12” was first introduced in 2012 by Alibaba (yes, that's a lot of 12s). The holiday sales event will run from midnight on 12 December 2017 for 24 hours. Malaysians are in for a treat this year with a wide range of products when fashion and accessories to home and living products go at unbeatable prices and discounts on Taobao and Tmall marketplaces.

Among the many exclusive promotions available to Malaysians during the “Double 12” celebrations are:

• Cashback offers: Shoppers who pay by Malaysia E-banking will enjoy RM20 cashback with a minimum spend of RM200 on Taobao. 
• Sea Freight promotion: Spend RMB199 and get an instant deduction of RMB20 on sea freight charges.

From today until the 12th of December 2017, Malaysians will be able to visit Tmall World’s Secret Santa Box “Double 12” celebration at TownPark, MyTOWN Shopping Centre, which features hundreds of exclusive giveaways and a host of fun-filled activities for the entire family. 

I participated in the Lucky Secret Santa box, and got myself a selfie stick! There was such a big crowd at the Malaysian launch and I think it was a great success. There were many activities at the mall with santarinas, a photo booth, and the Secret Santa Box giveaways. It truly is a fun filled event for the whole family.

Special Interactive activities and performances have been lined up during the three day celebration, such as the “Gift Catcher Interactive Game” where consumers stand a chance to win treats and goodies by just downloading the Taobao Mobile app at the event; or if you’re lucky, walk away with a “Lucky Secret Santa Box” when you visit with friends and family, taking place at 1.30pm and 3.30pm daily.
