Event: Veet Sensitive Touch with no fear of cuts

Beauty can feel like a tricky stunt when it comes to hair removal and trimming, as many sensitive body parts demand skill and care. Bikini lines, eyebrows and underarms are delicate areas that requires gentle yet precise trimming, which existing tools like razors and tweezers cannot fully provide. Understanding women’s need for an easier solution, world’s No. 1 depilatory brand Veet has recently rolled out a new beauty gadget that makes hair trimming a breeze.

Known as Veet Sensitive Touch, this new gadget is a game-changing device that comes with various detachable heads to facilitate accurate and gentle hair trimming at sensitive body parts, such as the eyebrows, underarms and bikini lines. The cutting blades are specially designed to never touch your skin during usage, hence no risk of cuts.

Currently, women often shape eyebrows by tweezing or threading, as well as use razors for hair removal at bikini line and underarms.

"Research has shown that unfortunately the market does not cater to method that treats each sensitive area with the precision, gentleness and convenience it needs. Hence, women seems to need a whole armory of tools like razors, tweezers, cream, wax strips and so on to tame those tricky terrains"
- Tiffany Tang, Marketing Director of RB Malaysia and Singapore

This calls for a new invention, and Veet takes on the challenge.

My first hair removal product was Veet, and it was only fitting that this brand, being at the forefront of innovation, has always been the trusted expert in female hair removal. I am glad to see that they are covering all their bases to help a woman obtain the perfect groomed look with convenience in mind.

According to Celebrity Makeup Artist Stevensunny, maintaining a well-shaped brow is just as important in a woman’s beauty regime as skincare. Whenever we want to trim our hair, we need to ensure we have the right tools with us to ensure that we do not overtrim, or undertrim. Stevensunny advises us to always use a mascara comb to shape our brows first, then only we will know how much we will need to trim.

Before trimming, it is always essential to draw your brows first, so you know where to aim your tweezers, scissors, or in this case, Veet Sensitive Touch. When using this device to trim, do not look at the device. Look into the mirror, and let it guide you.

He was there at the event with us, giving us a tutorial on what brows to draw if we want to achieve that Rock, Korean, or Bohemian look. Rock looks have typical strong dark brows, and are usually straightforward and gives off a very distinct sense of power.

Korean brows are straight but light, making the wearer seem more approachable. In other words, effortless beauty. If you want to try out this look but your current brows are too arched, you will need to let it grow out first before trimming it.

When trimming Korean style brows, always trim down the arch area, and trim up when you trim between your eyes. To draw those brows, use powder instead of a gel formulation, and always start in the middle, never from the front as it will look harsh.

One trick that I always live by when drawing my brows, go for the difficult side first. Then it is much easier to draw the easy side, and slowly balance out the brows so you don't get an irregular shape.

If you're into the bohemian style, this is a natural look that is wearable daily. You don't have to do too much to enhance your beauty, just trim a little of the excess to expose the natural arch, and that's it. It is easy to maintain, and still looks neat.

Malaysia Supermodel and Actress Amber Chia, who also graced the launch, shared with us on her experience using Veet Sensitive Touch and how it saves time-pressed women like her from the inconvenience and discomfort of traditional eyebrow shaping methods.

“Beauty is important to me, not just because I am a celebrity, but also because I feel good when I look good. And I believe a groomed and pretty pair of eyebrows is essential to complete the look. But I’ll be honest – I often dread styling my brows because it is so painful and time-consuming with a tweezer! My schedule is so packed it is hard to get a breather sometimes, let alone keeping my brows shapely and perfect for the camera.

“All my thoughts on hair removal have changed since I began using Veet Sensitive Touch. I was blown away by Veet’s bullet-fast and painless alternative to style brows – just a few quick swipes and my brows are just the way I like them. I carry the gadget around in my handbag now!”

- Amber Chia

According to Stevensunny,  “Your eyebrows speak before you do. You can convey boldness and confidence with a squared off brow, or arch it differently to show free spirits. Many women have told me they don’t know how to do it properly and are afraid of messing it up. This is why I love Veet Sensitive Touch; it is suitable for all brow types and skill level, and you can adjust the length of hair to trim. So, if you don’t like or got bored of the style you created, it is easier to change it!”

He further demonstrated to us the ease of using the device to create arches and angles at the gadget launch.

The first time I saw the gadget, I was wondering how easy it would be to just trim off my brows to make them perfect. Thanks to the Veet team, I was able to try it out and I couldn't wait to get home to test both trimmers.

Veet Sensitive Touch has two types of heads, which you can use to trim your brows, bikini line, or underarms. As they are made with precision, you can be assured that the blades will never touch your skin, therefore you won't get cut the way you might when using razors. As a fail-safe, they also provide you with combs to ensure that you don't get cut.

This is the head for the brows, there are two varying lengths, and you can use either one based on your liking.

No bigger than an electronic toothbrush, Veet Sensitive Touch can be carried in a handbag and come to the rescue in any hairy situations throughout the day. Have a dinner date but the brow is looking unruly after work? Simply whip out the device and quickly comb it over the brows to gussy up your look!

Each Veet Sensitive Touch comes with one beauty styler, one two-sided precision head for optimal eyebrow shaping, one bikini trimming head, two comb attachments, one styler cap, one cleaning brush, and one beauty pouch. The device runs on an AA battery, which is included in the packaging too.

Veet Sensitive Touch retails at RM119.00 at major pharmacies nationwide and online retailers.

Review: Althea Korea's Limited Edition Mermaid Box

*Warning: Picture filled post ahead*

Like all beauty loving ladies, I was super excited when Althea Korea set its foot on Malaysian shores. Thanks to Tammy, I was one of the lucky few who were selected to collaborate with Althea on a number of campaigns. Needless to say, I am an avid supporter of Althea, and it is always the first site I go to for my K-beauty fix.

The Althea Box campaign was launched in October last year and features all full sized products at a fraction of the cost. What I like about these boxes were that you could see before you buy if you wanted any of the products in there. No subscription needed. If you like it, you buy it. And that saves me (and I daresay a lot of other people) the hassle.
