Review: Shizens Lip Tattoo

Being a girl that always have too much stuff in her handbag, I always try to find ways to lighten it, and if that means that there is one thing with a dual purpose, I would most probably have it in my bag. If you know me well enough, you would have known that I have a touch-up makeup bag that I carry around all the time. The only problem I have with this is that it's close to bursting >< definitely will need to get some decluttering done there :p

And what better way to start than with the Shizens Lip Tattoo. The Lip Tattoo is Shizens’ star product, and is (in my humble opinion) one of the product that made the Shizens brand what it is today. The Shizens Lip Tattoo adds a spread of moisture and relieves the formation of fine lines. It helps to lighten dark pigmented lips and gradually turn them into natural pink or rosy tones, which makes it the perfect product to apply on your lips and also your cheeks (if you so desire).

Reverse of the packaging

This product as I was told by their sales rep, is extremely effective, can be used by anyone with differing skin tones, and can last up to six hours. Having a product that can have a long lasting effect such as this might seem a little far fetched, so I decided to test it.

From the packaging itself, the bottle is quite simple and unassuming. It's sleek, and has nothing else on it except the brand name.  It's pretty compact, and can fit easily in my hand, making it a very handy product to leave in my handbag (as per the pic above). The applicator is the typical doe-tip applicator you would find in most lip glosses.

 Doe-tip applicator

The product itself is white in colour, but upon application, it goes on clear, and you can see the effects within about two minutes of application.

Swatch on my hand

Here is a swatch of it on my hand. As mentioned, the product is a liquid form, and is originally white in colour, but after awhile, it clears up, and a pinkish hue is left behind (below). The colour is not overpowering, as in it doesn't leave behind a bright pink colour, but a very subtle one, which makes it great for me because I don't like statement lip colours for every day use. I prefer light tones, cos that makes me more approachable, and easier to talk to :D

To test on one of their claims that this product can last on you for six hours, I timed my swatch over the course of the day. The picture above was taken about evening time (as you can see from the artificial light), and when I woke up the next day (about 12 hours later), the pink tone was still visible. Over the course of the day and after 19 hours, the pink tone was still visible! It only started wearing off after about 20 hours or so....so you can apply this on your lips, and don't have to worry about applying any lipstick on the whole day cos your lips would have already had on the pinkish rosy hue.

So this is how my lips look like after applying Shizens' Lip Tattoo. I love the pink tones that makes me look very sweet :D

So what do I like about this product?

I like that it doesn't dry out my lips, and I love that the colour stays on for longer than six hours. I don't have to reapply my lipstick cos this product does the job for me, and the colour is just right for me, with soft hues, giving my lips the just-kissed look :)

My simple day look during my beach days at Bali a few weeks ago. Nothing extra on my lips and cheeks, just the Lip Tattoo :)

And if that's not enough, you can also apply it on your cheeks as a blusher! The colour will stay on the whole day, and you don't have to worry about bringing an extra blusher compact with you :) Now that's what I call a star two-in-one product that can save you a little bit of space in that handbag :)

Verdict: 8/10
