Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is back in 2018!

Awoooooo!!!!!!!!

The wait is over! After holding off buying my books this year, the world's biggest book sale is back! This year, they are featuring even more books, an increase of an additional 1.5 million, to 4.5 million books! Available across all genres, the highly anticipated annual book sale will take place for 11 days, and will be open for 24 hours with free admission to anyone and everyone!

More deets below:

Date: 7 to 17 December 2018
Venue: Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC), Seri Kembangan

This is the 10th year the sale is being conducted to cater to bookworms like me, and I have been a loyal follower of the BBW sale since they started it in 2009. At 75% - 95% discount off retail prices, whatever your fancy, you will be sure to find a variety of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese books from bestsellers, young adult novels, children’s books, romance, sci-fi, crime, thriller, business books, architecture, art and design, cookbooks, and many more.

Despite growing to such a massive scale, their goal remains unchanged — to make books accessible for everyone. From their humble beginnings having the sale at an empty event space in Amcorp Mall (which eventually became the spot to where Bookxcess now is) to having it at MIECC, the book prices are still at a pretty affordable rate, between RM10-RM12 per paperback book.

I still remember taking the train all the way from Cheras to Taman Jaya Station (Amcorp Mall), purchasing my books, and then carting the books all the way back. That was the lengths I was willing to go to in order to get my books. 🙈

“After all these years of organising the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, our commitment still remains. We would like to plant the seed for the love of reading and hopefully in increasing the level of literacy in Malaysia among all age group. To me, literacy is a bridge to knowledge and with knowledge you can do anything”, said Andrew Yap, Founder of Big Bad Wolf Books.

For school-going children, educational books are also the highlight with selections from famous local publishers such as Kualiti, Sasbadi, Nusamas, Cemerlang and Pelangi. Karangkraf, PTS, Pakeer and Pustaka Azhar will also be bringing their contemporary Malaysian novels to the sale.

Are you looking forward to the sale? I know I am! I've even decided to take some time off to head over there so I can have ample time to browse the selections :)

Til the next time, stay beautiful!
