Review: Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask

It's the last month of the year and I'm sure most of you are inundated with lots of invites for year end parties! But please don't forget, although partying is fun, you'll also need to take care of your skin otherwise it can get dull with little TLC.

So to help you on your journey, I've decided to share with you this product that I have been using for a few weeks. For those of you who are beauty enthusiasts, I'm sure you know that Althea now has their own IP brand, and this product is one of the latest in their range of Althea branded products.

It's none other than the Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask, which is, incidentally currently in stock and retails for only RM36 at Althea's website! Link *here*

Give your skin a big gulp of hydration with the refreshing peeling powers of Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask! Containing both AHA and BHA extracts, this gentle but effective exfoliator transforms from a clay to a whipped cream lather, whisking away dead skin cells to prevent flakiness. It’s also formulated with casein protein from milk to revitalize and moisturize the skin. The result is radiantly smooth, healthy skin that's bouncy to the touch!

I have always liked Althea's packaging because it is minimalistic, but the products work well and deliver what it promises. For this product, don't be fooled by the Peel word, because it's not a peel-off mask. The word peel actually means, peeling off the layer of dead skin cells on your skin.

When you first pump out the product, it comes out like a soft clay-like texture. Once you smooth it over your skin, it bubbles up, especially when you massage it on damp skin to deeply cleanse the pores.

The product has a soft, clay-like texture upon dispensing

So how you use the product is very simple. You just need to apply it on damp skin and massage it gently until it becomes bubbly. This is where the foam will penetrate into your pores and deeply cleanses it. Once it turns into bubbles, let it rest on your skin for about 30 seconds to a minute before rinsing it off with warm water.

After rinsing, pat your face dry, and be amazed at the soft supple skin you are left with.

The product bubbles up after you smooth it over your face. Leave it for 30 seconds to a minute before rinsing it off.

What do I think about the product?
  1. I like that my face feels very soft and supple after I use it. It is smoother and I can genuinely feel that my dead skin cells have been stripped from my face.
  2. My face also doesn't feel taut and dry after usage, which is a plus point for me, because although I have oily combination skin, I am also careful about not stripping away too much moisture from my skin. I have always heard that milk is good for our skin, and now I can attest that the Casein Protein in this product works wonders for me.
  3. Because it works so fast, I don't have to worry about not being able to get my masking on because of the limited time I have after taking into account my work, etc. I just need to leave it on for one minute, and my face feels refreshed. When previously I seldom mask, I now use this twice a week.

My last thoughts on this product:
If you are looking for a fuss free mask that targets dead skin cells and moisturises your skin, look no further because this will be the product for you, because you don't need to spend 15 minutes masking, and this can just be a normal weekly add on to your beauty regime, after cleansing your face.

Of course, convenience is one thing, what's more important is that the product delivers, and for me it does. I have recommended this to my circle of friends, and now I am recommending it to you. Try it out, and let me know what you think!
