Final Weekend for Setia City Mall's Food Carnival

Food enthusiasts! If you missed out on last week's Food Carnival at Setia City Mall, don't fret, because you have another weekend to enjoy all the scrumptious and delicious offerings this weekend! It's their last weekend, so head over if you want to enjoy all sorts of F&B overlooking the beautiful park by the lake. The Carnival is open from 4pm to 10pm, so mark your calendars and make a pitstop there!

Here's a look at some of the offerings in store for you:

If you're a frequent traveller to Boat Noodle, do travel all the way to Setia City Mall, because this is one of the booths at the Carnival. You get to enjoy your Thai Teas and satisfy your palate for Boat Noodles!

You don't have to go all the way down to Melaka to quench your coconut shake craving. They've got them right here at Setia City Mall's Food Carnival, and from what I see, they're pretty legit. They've even got the option for you to add chocolate syrup!

Fancy some Char Kuey Teow with shrimp, cockles, or both? I kinda regretted not purchasing this as I saw a lot of people purchasing from the food truck. I even heard you can make it extra spicy if you want to, for that extra kick!

If you don't already know, they've got a Durian buffet too! All you can eat for RM45, for a period of 25 minutes. I don't know about you, but I can finish quite a lot of durians in 25 minutes. And if buffets are not your thing, you can purchase durians to bring back to enjoy at home. 1kg of the Udang Merah variant only costs less than RM25, and the Darling D88 variant is only RM18 for a kg. Le bb bought one for the family, and the flesh is sweet and flavourful at the same time. Durian lovers, this can be your stop for the weekend!

Perhaps one of the most iconic food trucks there was the Inside Scoop Kombi. Serving fresh artisanal ice cream, keep a lookout for the yellow and white striped Kombi. If not to order some delicious refreshing ice-cream, at least to take a photo with it.

There is quite a variety of finger food, and I would say burgers are a hot selling item there. This stall's burger bakar just keeps flying off the truck! At any one time, there will be at least three to four persons waiting for their burgers. And if you've got a hankering for teh ais that's not Thai, you can get your fix here.

Another beverage truck, serving you all the drinks you would normally go for on a hot day, especially juices. Their specialty are fruit juices, whichever combination you want, they are sure to have it. And if they don't, they can definitely whip it up for you!

This is hands down my favourite store. Everyone who knows me knows my weakness are mangoes. When I walked the length of the Carnival, I zeroed in on this stall, and made my first purchase. The truck is called Originality Kitchen, and it's got a big mango hanging from the truck, so you won't miss it.

Throughout the day, the carnival will also showcase entertaining performances by Yamaha, Fitness First, SK Setia Alam, Persatuan Percinta Muzik Ukulele Malaysia (PPMUM) and Moon Walker Dance Studio. Visitors can also enjoy some fun games at game stations or take part in “Strike a Pose” photo contest and walk away with some prizes.

Yeah, that's me looking super happy because I can finally fill my tummy. If you're not convinced yet by my Mango comments, maybe this can convince you. The milky mango smoothie comes with real chunks of mango fruit, and I am not meaning measly portions of just two or three pieces. Practically the bottom of the cup was filled with the fruits. For RM5, it was really worth the money.

Apart from having the carnival outside, there are also booths indoor selling dry packaged foods and Ipoh Kacang Putih (until now I still don't know why they call it that).

Food truck prices are pretty decent, no cutthroat pricing like RM20 for a drink, etc. So a little bit goes a really long way. Try out the many fares on display, and your tummy will thank you for it :)

The carnival opens at 4pm to 10pm, and is located outside the East Entrance of Setia City Mall and do check out their website at www.setiacitymall.com for the full list of events and updates.
If you're not sure where the stalls are, don't worry as there are maps to guide you on where to go.

Will you go this weekend? Let me know!

Til the next time, stay beautiful!

xoxo,
yin
