Movie Review: Paranoia (2013)

Thanks to Nuffnang, I got the chance to catch the premiere screening of Paranoia, a film starring hunky Liam Hemsworth, Lukas Till, and the enigmatic Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman :)

Synopsis: The high stakes thriller Paranoia goes deep behind the scenes of global success to a deadly world of greed and deception. The two most powerful tech billionaires in the world (Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman) are bitter rivals with a complicated past who will stop at nothing to destroy each other.

A young superstar, Adam Cassidy (Liam Hemsworth), seduced by unlimited wealth and power, falls between them and becomes trapped in their twisting, turning, life-and-death game of corporate espionage. By the time Adam realizes his life is in danger, he is in far too deep and knows far too much for them to let him walk away.

Verdict: 6.5/10. I think as a movie about espionage, it has all the ingredients for success. The only flaw I can find in this movie is that the characters are not really developed fully, and there are many other ways that the Director can spin this movie. The ending was pretty boring and predictable, but I still enjoyed it  nonetheless. Sure there were times where I thought the movie was a little draggy, and some parts were not really explored, but I think the chemistry is there, the director just failed to make it connect on a deeper level, thus making the movie not very much a joy to watch.

Paranoia opens in Malaysian cinemas on 12 September, so be sure to catch it if you're into the espionage movies :)

Til the next time, stay beautiful!

xoxo,
yin
