Part 1: Traveling to Lost World of Tambun in Style and Staying in Comfort at the Lost World Hotel

Happy weekend guys! As you know, a few weeks ago I went on a trip to the Lost World of Tambun thanks to the Butterfly Project :) It was the Butterfly Project's maiden trip outside of KL, and it was an awesome two day one night well spent with other beauty bloggers in our community :)

*Picture filled post ahead!*

So, when the weekend that we were supposed to leave came around, I was beside myself with anticipation, mostly because I knew I would be having so much fun there, but also because I got to ride in the ETS Train, famed for it's timely departures and comfortable journeys :)

*Note: all pics without watermark are courtesy of Henry Lee of I Am Studio*

Thanks to KTMB, we were given the chance to ride in style all the way to Ipoh, on board the ETS Gold train :) The journey was super comfortable, and there was even a little canteen in our cart selling local delicacies and  sustenance for anyone who needs it.

One thing I liked about sitting on the ETS train is that they are always on time. When they say 8:05am, they MEAN 8:05 am. They leave on the dot, so it's always important to be early whenever you're taking the ETS, hence their reminder to be at the platform 30 minutes before departure time :)

There are super friendly conductors, and one of them even consented to pose for me while checking my ticket :p I tell you, this can be used for one of their advertisements! :p Then I will be famous!!! muahahaha

Moving on to my trip......

Thanks to the Butterfly SWAT team, they actually went to great lengths to pack a travel survival kit beauty box for all of us!!!! Even the official photographer got a beauty kit as well :p To top it all off, Tammy's sister actually baked Rilakuma cookies for us as well! We gobbled down those cookies on the train ride itself, and it was awesomely yummy!

Want to know the contents of the beauty travel survival kit?!?!

Ta daa!!!!! There are altogether 10 products inside, and they're all you need in a travel essentials kit. There is sunscreen, lip balm, facial wash, shampoo (L'Oreal Mythic Oil!!!!!!!), soap, hair mask, face mask, mozzie repellent, health drink, and hand sanitizers!

I love my beauty kit so much, I'm unwilling to let it go!!!! It's my PRECIOUSSSSSSSSS.....

The SWAT team was also kind enough to give us each a polaroid frame sticker, and wecould use it for any polaroid we wanted! Needless to say, I choose to immortalise this moment with le bb :)

Fast forward to arriving in Ipoh, we were greeted by a Lost World staff, Shawal (Correct spelling?) holding up a banner welcoming us beauty bloggers on our trip to an amazing themepark wonderland!

Look at all those exciting faces on the bus! We all can't wait to reach the Lost World, we were all chatting away non stop and couldn't wait until we arrived at our destination! Of course, once we arrived, we were whisked away into a whilrdwind of events including lunch, a tour of the theme park, and a treasure hunt adventure! It wasn't long before we were all tired out and wanting to head back to our hotel rooms  :)

Behold, the Lost World Hotel!!!! Newly opened in April 2011, the hotel boasts six different categories of rooms, price ranging from RM500 to RM1,200 a night. But hold on! If you're a  credit card holder from either MBF, Citibank, HSBC, or Maybank, you get up to 60% discount upon staying there, as well as two complimentary Lost World Hot Springs and Spa by Night entrance tickets!

The room that we were assigned to was the Classical Room, which stood at RM600 a night. It was all very clean and tidy, not to mention cozy as well.

There was a flat screen TV that you could watch satellite TV and the requisite Vision 4 channels. Complimentary Coffee and Tea were available in sachets, and there was a hot water boiler so that we could make our beverages :)

The bathroom was awesome as well. There were no bathtubs, but the shower was very invigorating. Hot water was provided, and we were given ample shampoos and soap :)

One thing I loved was the little pouch they gave us in the bathroom. It houses all the necessary travel bathroom essentials, from toothbrushes, to shower caps, soap, shampoo, and even a shaver! Trust Lost World to understand that we would be wearing bathing suits that would require us to shave certain parts of our body (if we forgot to do so) *oops* :p

The next best thing? The hair dryer!!!!! The best feature? they automatically turn on when you lift them out of their cradle, so you don't have to crimp your finger pressing a button continually in order for the dryer to work! :D I would love to have this installed in my own bathroom :D

The requisite safe for the safekeeping of your belongings :) Simple and easy to use :D

So what is a hotel room if you can't look out the window? There have been many times that I check into a hotel only to look out the window of the room that was assigned to me and feel distinctly sad that my room overlooks some parking lot, or construction site, and there's nothing beautiful to see.

When I entered my room, the first thing I did was head over to the window, and lo and behold! Such a wonderful sight! You can see the mountains in the background, and the Lost World theme park , surrounded by trees and beautiful clouds! Now that is something that I have really looked forward to :)

The next day, we had our breakfast at the Garden Terrace across the street, at the Lost World Themepark. One gripe I had was that there was no clear sign or indication where the Garden Terrace was, and if you're like me, you will understand why I didn't manage to find it the first time. You see, when I go to a new place, I tend to be so enamoured by it that I sometimes miss out on looking for landmarks because I'm so busy taking pics of other stuff. So I didn't realise that the Garden Terrace was at the Themepark. I thought it should be in the hotel building cos that's where it usually is.

But when I arrived at the Garden Terrace, all my misgivings are gone! The breakfast spread was awesome, there were egg stations, nasi lemak station, even a fresh fruit station! Everything I wanted for breakfast was available. I wanted Koko Krunch, they had it. I wanted toasted bread, it was there! I wanted half boiled eggs, it has already been prepared. Everything was absolutely awesomesauce!

When it came the time to say goodbye to the place finally, we all got together at the lobby, and there were so many camwhore moments, I genuinely felt like a supermodel that day :p

I think it was more the hype of the trip, all of us were up to all sorts of antics that day! Here we have our hands up as if we were under arrest :p Actually, I think it was more to us not wanting to go back so we're trying our best not to leave >.<

Because we took so many pictures, we ran the risk of always having a *peace* sign in all our pictures, so there was one particular one that Jean took that we decided to go for a different approach. Then Ben Dan went and did the *peace* again :p

It was an awesome trip to the Lost World together with all the butterflies!!!! I have two more posts coming up soon, on the Theme Park itself, and also the Hot Springs!

If you are also considering going to the Lost World any time soon, check out the rates of the rooms above! Of course, it would definitely help if you were to book your stay with any of the stated credit cards above, and you pay less than normal rates! How awesome would that be? :)

Stay tuned for my other posts coming up on the Lost World of Tambun! Have you ever stayed anywhere where it was as great as this? Do let me know in the comments section below!

Til the next time, stay beautiful!

xoxo,
yin

Daw. I wish I could go too. But tell you the truth, Lost World of Tambun isn't exactly a place that I would fancy but if I were still back in Ipoh, it's better than nothing.
