Review: Elianto Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick

Hello dearies!!!! I'm back after a hiatus (so sorry, life came in the way, with work, and moving house, and silly unifi not being able to RELOCATE my internet for me after NUMEROUS calls to the call centre. So I cancelled unifi, and now I'm using p1! Finally Internet equipped *yay*)

So back to the matter at hand, I'm back and today I will be reviewing a product that has come into the market not too long ago, and they're from Elianto. Yes, it's the Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick :) This is the first time I've received such a cute packaging from Elianto.  It goes to show that they have really given a lot of thought into what items to put into the package to showcase the signature features of the Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick. The moment I opened up the packaging, I understood immediately the properties that the product has.

Turtle – Long-lasting
Nokia 3310 – Indestructible
Cactus – Resilience

For all three items, you get the impression that the shadow will last for a long time, and does not easily smudge.

Dressing up the eyes has been a trend centuries in the making. From the time of Cleopatra to modern times, eyeshadows and eyeliners has always been a staple in any makeup routine. Not surprisingly, Elianto has caught on to the bandwagon as well for the Spring Summer 2015 trend of having sultry eyes with a contemporary edge. Being decidedly dramatic, the Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick allows one to just glide and go with bold intense eyes.

With Elianto’s new range of Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick, they offer a range of the simplest of all options. All you need to do is apply, glide, and go. Made with a German-based formula, this wax-based product is not only long-lasting, its texture allows for effortless super smooth blending. It is waterproof, and smudge-proof cream-to-powder compound is feather light on lids.

What’s even better, this product comes with an in-built sharpener that can ensure your eyeshadow stick remains sharp.

Containing Jojoba Oil, Elianto’s Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick is both dermatologically or ophthalmologically approved. This product is also Mineral oil free, paraben free, and preservatives free.

The packaging itself fits me quite nicely in my opinion. It is not too slim, neither is it too bulky for me to carry around. The product itself is a full glossy black with the words Long Wear Eyeshadow Stick emblazoned across the sides, and they have very helpfully added an extra touch of the shadow colours at the end of the stick.

How about the colours? I love the colours that are available in this range, and there are six colours altogether. They are all the primary colours that one would use in their everyday business. All cool colours, the eyeshadow sticks come in white, brown, blue, navy, purple, black.

<White, Brown, Black>
The staple colours in the collection.

<L-R: Blue, Purple, Navy>

The other colours in the collection, to dress up your eyes and add a little more mystique for night wear.

Moving on to the swatches..

Under natural light

 With flash

 The texture of the colours are very smooth, and I like that it is quite pigmented. These swatches are all taken with just one line drawn, and I daresay I was very happy with the outcome. I don't have to spend a long time just to line my eyes.

As you can see, apart from the white and the black, the other four colours has a bit of a metallic sheen to it, and I like that about shadows. Personally for me, I feel that it makes my eyes pop out a little bit more.

So what are the claims and how do they fare?

After rubbing twice

Smudgeproof – Once it dries, a little bit of rubbing doesn’t do any harm, but if you rub too hard, it will definitely come off. This shot was taken after my second round of rubbing, and as you can see, a little of the shadow has come off.

I tried it out on my eyes, and my eyes tend to get a bit oilier on the right side, so the colour does come off on the right side, but not the left. Therefore, if you have very oily eyelids, and you still want to give this product a try, remember to always blot your eyelids to ensure it stays oil-free.

After putting it to the test under running water, nothing happens. But once I rub it, the shadow comes off

Waterproof – I would say it’s water-resistant, not water-proof. Nothing happens if you go into water with it but don’t touch it at all. But when wet, if you touch it, then you’re gonna have a bad time >.<

Long-wearability – It lasts quite long. Even after a whole day of usage and oily eyelids, the colour still stays on, and unless you remove it with oil-based make up remover, not everything is going to come off. I used my trusty Bifesta remover, and even that didn’t manage to remove all traces.

One other thing I like to talk about, it the very cute sharpener that is located at the end of the tube. It forms part of the colour that shows you which shadow is which, and I like that it is included. For me, I like my liners to be sharp when I line my eyes so that I get a clean line, and not jagged or too thick, something that can easily happen when your liner is blunt and doesn't glide on properly.

So with the sharpener, if your liner isn't sharp anymore, you can just slip it into the sharpener, and sharpen it until your desired sharpness.

My favourite colour of all is the navy colour, which is why I am using it as a test run for you guys. I love the colour payoff, and because it’s cream, there is no fallout at all. You have two choices, which are; you can use the tip of your ring finger to smudge out the colours over your eyelids, or you can use a brush (like the Zoeva Cream Shader brush) to spread it out.

I smudged the navy as an eyeshadow on my lids, and used the black as a liner. I love that I can get a smooth thin line for my liner, and it just goes to show how easy the liner goes on. I was also able to gradient the shadow a bit, so that was a plus point that I will give to Elianto. I feel that for a product that can be worn on its own, you need to be able to build it up to your desired shade, or lessen the shade for a bigger impact, and I felt that Elianto has done this very well.

The product is available for RM31.90 at all Elianto stores nationwide.

Verdict: 7.0/10. They lost some points from me cos of the smudges on my right eye. Other than that, I love the product :)

Repurchase: Yes!

Last Comments: I hope they will come up with more colours for this product. I like all six shades, but if they had green, or pink, maybe even dark red or something, I think they will really hit it off!
