Review: Aperio Natural Cherry Blossom Radiance Shampoo and Leave In Conditioner

Growing up, I have always had long hair, in fact, there was never a time where I had short hair (except once, but that’s another story altogether), and I have always been on the search for a shampoo that keeps my locks soft and smooth and healthy.

With this in mind, I decided to try out Aperio Natural’s Cherry Blossom Radiance Shampoo and Cherry Blossom Hair Defense Leave In Conditioner.

Cherry Blossom is the flower of the Japanese cherry, and has been admired by many whenever it blooms every year. Considered the national flower of Japan, it is more prominently known as the Sakura flower. Because of its wonderful scent, it has been made into a variety of beauty products, including perfumes, soaps, and now shampoo!

It is no wonder that it is a popular scent, and I was really excited to try it out to see how it works on my hair. Of course, apart from the scent, I was also interested to see if this product could do wonders for my hair.

Cherry Blossom Radiance Shampoo (RRP: RM126 – 500ml)
The Cherry Blossom Radiance Shampoo gently cleanses and volumise your hair. Formulated with Aesculus Hippocastanum extract and yeast extract to cleanse and revitalise hair from top to bottom. It gently cleans hair, and promotes healthier and stronger hair.

With the Aesculus Hippocastanum extract, this protects hair from daily damage without causing buildup, imparting a glossy look to hair. Its Calendula Officinalis Extract hydrates dry scalps to remove dandruff and improve the condition of the scalp. Its regenerative properties also helps hair follicles to grow abundantly allowing for a thicker mane, and the antioxidants help protect the hair and scalp against cell-damaging free radicals. As always, Vitamin B5 helps strengthens hair follicles and prevents hair thinning.

Ingredients:
Aesculus Hippocastanum Extract, Yeast Extract, Algae Extract, Botanical Extracts, Vitamin B5

How to use? Just apply to wet hair, massage into a thick lather and rinse.

Before I started using the shampoo, my hair was quite coarse, as I had just undergone hair colouring from another review, and I suffer from dandruff (most probably due to the stresses of my job). The shampoo itself was clear in colour, and smells heavenly. It lathers up well, and easily rinses off, unlike other shampoos that leave residue and feels very starchy after rinsing. After the first wash, I could feel my hair after rinsing was softer and easier to handle.

After repeated uses, I could feel that my dandruff was gone, my scalp was less itchy, and the daily oiliness on my hair was reduced. My hair was also softer, and I could go two days without having to wash my hair, when previously I have to wash my hair every day so that it doesn’t look oily and limp.

Cherry Blossom Hair Defense Leave In Conditioner (RRP: RM110 – 200ml)
The Cherry Blossom Hair Defense Leave In Conditioner shines, volumises and detangles the hair, leaving your hair soft and smooth. It moisturises dry and damaged hair while detangling and frizzing. Our conditioner helps recapture the shine, leaving the hair looking vibrant and healthy. Use during wet or dry hair without any rinse needed.

What’s so awesome about this conditioner? It helps recapture the shine, leaving hair looking vibrant and healthy. Additionally, it acts like any normal rinse conditioner does, which detangles the hair leaving it soft and smooth. The best part? It is leave in, and can be used on wet or dry hair without any rinsing needed.

Comprising Hydrolyzed Silk and Wheat Protein, the conditioner provides excellent moisture binding properties and provides a protective barrier to your hair. Olive Oil provides intense moisture and shine, leaving the hair looking vibrant and healthy. This is ideal for coarse and damaged hair due to chemical process, which mine was. And lastly, Vitamin B5 effectively helps to straighten hair from frizzing and static while maintaining a soft and smooth finish.

Ingredients:
Hydrolyzed Silk Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Olive Oil, Vitamin B5

How to use? Just apply an appropriate amount gently on hair (hair can be damp or dry), focusing on the ends and combing it through with your hands. Because it is leave in conditioner, don’t rinse, and don’t blow dry.

The first thing I noticed when I pumped out the conditioner was that it smells divine. The texture is a little gel-like, and is translucent in colour. Not much product is needed, one pump is enough for my entire head, with some to spare for the ends. After the first time of applying it, my hair feels super soft and smooth, and I couldn’t stop touching it!

I’m not really a leave-in conditioner kind of person, but after using it for a few times, it was so good that I had to bring it with me when I went travelling. I dispensed a little of it into a small bottle and brought it with me to Cambodia when I went there for a business trip. It helped my hair remain healthy and vibrant, especially with the hot and humid weather associated with all SEA countries.

This was taken before I started using the shampoo and conditioner.

Verdict?

After two weeks of using the shampoo and conditioner, I could feel my hair is softer and easier to maintain.

I would definitely recommend giving this a try, and because you don’t need a lot of product, one bottle can last a long way.

The after result. As you can see, the ends of my hair are less dry, and my hair is shinier than two weeks prior.  The kink in the hair is from me tieing my hair up the whole day, and when I run my finegrs through my hair, there is less knotting, and my fingers just slip right through.

Interested? Now you can try it too!
