Event: Rimmel Launch Party at The Gasket Alley

If you were a Rimmel fan, rejoice! For Rimmel is now back in Malaysia. Having pulled out a few years ago, I was ecstatic to find out that they're back and *hopefully* here to stay. Just how long ago have I been a Rimmel fan? You can find out here! *click* Don't mind the bad angle of the photos, I was just starting out :p

The British cosmetics brand recently had their launch party at The Gasket Alley, giving guests a full London feel, with Mini Cooper pickups and the dressing up of the entire place to reflect the London look.
I have to admit, I was very excited when I got their invitation in the 'mail'. There were helium balloons, encouraging us to Makeup Our Own Rules, even Glen was excited to see what's inside.

The invite came in a 'pop me' balloon, filled with glitter. Pop it I did, and I also suffered the consequences of cleaning up after it :p

Rimmel's tagline is "Live the London Look" and the brand has Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne (amongst others) as the face of the brand. Celebrating Millenials and Generation Z, there really isn't one particular London Look. It is an attitude, a Vibe. Unafraid of reinventing the rules of beauty while inspiring confidence to create your own distinctive looks, the London Look is easy to create.

It was a night full of London fun as they unveiled the four Rebel Squad members of Malaysia, Ashley Lau, Rubini Sambanthan, Nina Khalil, and Chacha Maembong. Each Rebel Squad member represents a different London look, which are:

Fearless Chic - Poised yet Fearless, she's ready to take on the world!
Cool, calm, and effortless. This no-makeup, makeup look best encapsulates the confident, self-assured attitude of the poshest part of West London. This look is all about flawless skin, natural brows, gorgeous blushed eye makeup and demure lips in shades from coral pink to nude.

Experimental Hipster - Fun & Unique, she goes all out to try different colours
Just like East London, the Experimental HIpster look just refuses to stay the same. The main aim is not to look like anyone else, particularly when you step out your door. Your face is truly your canvas with this look, clear matte skin allows you to go crazy with experimental lips in blue, black, or grey and brought alive with a bold brow. A metallic smoky eye finishes the look for that out of this world vibe.

Edgy Street Glam - Edgy & Fashionable, she stands out wherever she goes
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant ethnic beat and creative pulse of South London, the Edgy Street Glam look emphasises a powerful defined brow that is paired with sultry seductive lips in tones of bright red to sexy pink. Balance is given to the strong brow and lips with dimensional contouring complemented by nude eyeshadow and a luscious feline flick of eyeliner.

Spotlight Grunge - Cool yet Glamourous, she's ready to be in the spotlight anytime
We love the dark gothic vibe of Camden - North London, so with Spotlight Grunge we've given a fresh new twist to the standard goth look by swapping out the usual black lips to deep plum for a modern day flair. The makeup also features a rock chic winged eye and a polished brow with the dark lips on bare face. We're breaking the rule of choosing either a statement lip or eye here, but when you're in the spotlight, who cares!

There were many experiential booths waiting for us at the Playroom, and we had so much fun playing with colours. The full Rimmel product range was lined up at four counters and everyone got to try all the different palettes and products. We even got to try out our foundation shade, and were each given a shade that corresponded the best to our skin tone.

What I love about the brand are its quality and affordability. The brow products range from RM10.90 to RM29.90. Lip products cost RM24.90 - RM26.90. Face products are RM14.90 - RM39.90, Eyeshadows are about RM10.90 - RM59.90. Of course, these are not the exact price ranges, just from the ones that I can see at Watsons and Guardian stores.

Rimmel is now available in selected Watsons and Guardian stores in Peninsular Malaysia.

Are you excited to try them out? Let me know in the comments below!

Til the next time, stay beautiful!
