Event: Converse Jack Purcell Pop Up and Offday launches new Converse footwear line

Fans of Converse rejoice! There is a new player in town, and that is  Converse Jack Purcell!! In conjunction with the release of Converse Jack Purcell’s Fall 2014 range, a collaboration with local fashion artist and curator Irman Hilmi and his boutique The Offday at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar we were given a taste of how the new fall collection will look like, and I have to say, it's quite awesome.

It was a very intresting event as there was a Do-It-Yourself Coffee and Accessories Crafts Workshop, in line with the Jack Purcell identity of The Power of Creativity over Convention. We were all treated to coffee thanks to Espressolab, and also charm bracelets thanks to The Mini Diary :) As I am a lover of charm bracelets, that was the session I loved the most :)

There were a lot of people at the charms booth, all of them clamoring to get their favourite bracelet  and charm. I myself hung around there for a long time trying to decide which bracelet and charm I wanted.

Check out all the different bracelets that they have :) There are thick ones, thin ones, dainty ones, and goth ones. Any type of bracelet you want, but on a first come first serve basis. For me, I don't really lean towards leather type bracelets, and string types are not my cup of tea. If you've been following my instagram, you will know that I love charms, so of course I took a bracelet that will enable me to add on additional charms.

Ta daa!!!!! my two bracelets. Yes, I know only one person is entitled to one bracelet, but le bb took another one as well, so technically, I only had one, and he gave his to me as a gift ^^ I took the one on top, as I really loved the design of the bracelet. It's very unique, and I have not seen it anywhere else. The one below, I found some additional charms elsewhere, and added them on to fill up the bracelet :)

There were photowalls where you could take photos with your own cameras, and photobooths where you could take a bunch of photos with your friends. It was a well thought out night as every inch of space at The Offday was utilised for something.

Situated in the hub of the fashion capitol of Kuala Lumpur, The Offday is in the centre of Bangsar’s Jalan Telawi 3. Going with the theme of classic old-school vibe and do-it-yourself culture with a hint of neo-punk rock, the Jack Purcell Pop-up Store offers the visual curation of Irman Hilmi’s retail experimentation.

But back to the event, the launch started off with KOL and singer-songwriter Ray Cheong welcoming the crowd with his own brand of eccentric acoustic set before emcee Kyle Aster takes over and drove the attention of the guests to the launch video of Jack Purcell’s new direction.

The Converse Jack Purcell Cross-Stitch is the star of this event. As the hero of the Fall 2014 for Jack Purcell’s range - a waxed cotton cross-stitch detail - outfitted in leather, which is a core texture for seasonal dressing. The premium and quality leather materials and subtle stitching details in the sneaker collection are refined and built with all around comfort.

Whilst everyone has heard of Converse, Jack Purcell has been around creating sneakers since 1935. The classic sneaker with its iconic “smile” toecap perfected the brand as a household favourite stylish sneaker. Converse Jack Purcell has been moving the brand into the vintage-classy direction and re-outfitted in sophisticated soft tumbled leather.

Jack Purcell Pop Up curator Irman Hilmi along with KOL and outlaw biker Eddie Lim then officially launched the Jack Purcell Fall 2014 season by unveiling the wall of Jack Purcell Cross Stitch and other Fall Season Jack Purcell for the first time to the media.
