MLTR Live in Malaysia 2012 @ Setia City Mall

MLTR was my first love :)

Even before books, the very moment I discovered music, I was exposed to Michael Learns to Rock, and they became my world :) I knew how to sing their song even before I fully understood what the lyrics meant. I was 10 years old.

It's been 16 years since, and they're still one of my favourite bands :) I missed them when they came to Genting a few years ago, and I almost missed them again this time around. But thanks to my dear friend Amelia, I got the chance to catch them perform live at Setia City Mall in Shah Alam.

The coveted MLTR tickets :)

The view from the East Entrance of the Mall, you could see how massive the concert is gonna be.

The concert was scheduled to start at 7pm, with Ah Beng as the opening act, and the actual MLTR to come live at 9pm. As per usual Malaysian timing, we only started at 8pm, which gave ample time for the local artistes to do their opening act.

The gates opened at 630pm to allow the crowd to enter the concert area, and there were close to 20,000 people there, I reckon.

Posing with my partner for the night, as le bb couldn't make it due to work commitments. She had an enjoyable time laughing at me cos I was so excited about MLTR :p

7pm, and the crowd was still coming in...those were the lucky people who managed to get Free Seating tickets. I got myself Free Standing ones, which was a little far, but I'm not complaining :D

After the opening act, MLTR started off with the instrumental Eternity :)

They did Sleeping Child as their third number, with a little bit of rearrangement.

Now, anyone who is truly a fan of MLTR would know that they are particularly famous for four songs. 25 Minutes, Sleeping Child, Paint My Love, and That's Why (You Go Away). They cannot escape from NOT performing those four songs, and I silently checked them off my list when they played each one of them.

They performed a slew of their greatest hits, and except for the new ones, I knew all of them  >.<  *true blue MLTR fan* lol

They sang 23 songs, much more than what other artistes sing at other concerts, and I was thoroughly entertained that night. But would have loved them to sing Sweetest Surprise or Family Tree from their latest Eternity album though

As is the case with most Groups, there is bound to be that one particular song that you love. For me it was "Complicated Heart" and when it came on, Jas was laughing at me cos I was super excited. To most, the lyrics were just as normal as other lyrics, for it spoke a special volume to me, probably because it always comes up to me when I am going through particular emotional times.

Couldn't get really good shots from that night cos we were too far away, and couldn't really see them either..they were like tiny teeny ants :p But it was good enough for me to hear them live.

After they played their last song for the night, they were hit with a slew of "encore" choruses. I knew it wasn't the end as they had yet to play the remaining two of their famous hits.

Even Tan Sri started to come up and cheered the crowd on to get them to cheer louder for MLTR to come back up on stage. They finally got back up, and started again with none other than Paint My Love, and fully finished with That's Why :)

It was an awesome finish because after they hit the last note, we were greeted with fireworks!!!

Oh my! I am so envy with you. I also love MLTR since I was little gal. Until now I still think MLTR's song is the best no matter how many times you listen to them. I watched their first and only concert when they came in KK but it was like 10 years ago.
